If I ever wanted to have a bonfire...I would have some kindling

I received a free fashion magazine this week. I can’t ever recall purchasing one…likely because they are the sickest things ever to be published. I don’t have a clue who reads these!

A) The models look like they’re about to keel over and die. They are not nice looking; they look terrible. They’re sick…most of them probably have some kind of eating disorder and smoke to ease their hunger pangs. They never smile or look happy, likely because they are the most miserable creatures ever to walk the earth.

B) They wear the nastiest clothing (can you even call it that?) that would guarantee enormous amounts of laughter if it were to be worn anywhere other than the runway.

C) The clothing costs more than a new car. You could almost feed an entire starving African nation with the money used to buy one pair of Dolce and Gabbana shoes. And it’s not like the people wearing them don’t know what it feels like to not eat for four weeks.

I hate it. Women, especially, need to steer clear of these traps and look to strong, bright, healthy, persevering women of character to model their lives after. It’s so easy, in our culture, to focus and even obsess on our physical selves. I hope for the disappearance of these shameful magazines. I will never have another one in my hands.
