Welcome spring, spiders, and squishing...

Spring has arrived (finally) and apparently this also means that the spiders have made their home in our basement. I love living here…so do the arachnids of Edmonton. These are not your normal tiny Northern Alberta creepy crawlies; these are, ugly big, fat bugs with pinchers on their mouths…waiting to bite human beings. I can’t ask David to kill them for me; last time I did that he captured the spider under a glass and chased me all over the house with it. So I must fend for myself…squashing any creature that I find in the shower, in the sink, in the bed, or under the laundry basket. I find the best way to accomplish this task is to gather up half a roll of toilet paper, bunch it up in your hand and quickly come down upon the crawly creature. Following the dramatic death, you must flush the bug down the toilet; garbage can disposal is not sufficient, should the arachnid miraculously decide to gather his legs together and come back to life.

Oh gross... I feel for you my friend. Perhaps I'll come over next week for a spider-squishing party and get rid of them once-and-for-all!!! Shame on David for not protecting you...shame, shame, shame!!!! Although I suppose these experiences only make us stronger.

So I got a package in the mail today from my sister - a spider catcher! It is the coolest tool I own - it looks like a watering attachment for the hose; you schwoop up the spider and release it outside (or in the toilet).
Thanks Rachel!
I must say your spider catcher is the neatest invention around! I must be a little jealous because I dreamt about it the other night...
The grossest thing Kathryn... yesterday Tristan had a spider crawling up his arm, and he picked it up and ate it... all on his own. Yuck.
Oh, it's the "other" Kathryn.. hi!
A "Spider Catcher"? Like a "jar" or a "fingers"? :)
shoot! I'm WAY too late with my super-ingenious website/gift idea for you...
anyways, maybe candice will read this and order a spider-catcher of her own...
love you, my dear crazy friend,
here's the site anyways:

hope the link works...
Uck!
No more spiders... it's now winter time... many moons after the first spider attack.
Eeww... That is disgusting! I like money spiders, but if I saw one of those I would probably move out of my house!
